Steve Elliott

Steve Elliott is the President of Black Hills State University. Prior to this position, he held the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs at Wayne State College in Northeast Nebraska. During his time at Wayne State College, Steve was responsible for overseeing a large faculty and staff, managing a substantial annual budget, and leading a growing student enrollment.
Steve has had a diverse career at Wayne State College, serving in various key positions, including faculty member, department chair, and dean. In 2016, he assumed the role of vice president of academic affairs, highlighting his commitment to fostering educational growth and innovation.
Steve holds a Master of Fine Arts degree, the highest accolade in his field, earned from the University of Maryland. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Kansas. Before entering academia, Steve served in the United States Marine Corps.
Steve and his wife Molly, have three children. Beyond his academic and military background, Steve is recognized for his creative talents in fine arts. His large-scale sculptures and mixed-media works have been featured in 26 states nationwide, showcasing his artistic skills.
