Dr. Barbara Szczerbinska

Dr. Barbara Szczerbinska is a Professor of Physics and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC). She has been with TAMU-CC since 2016 and has served as Associate Dean since 2021. Dr. Szczerbinska is currently a Fellow in the Texas Academic Leadership Academy, Cohort 6.
Before joining TAMU-CC, Dr. Szczerbinska was an Associate Professor at Dakota State University (DSU) and an Adjunct Professor at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. She earned her M.S. from the University of Wroclaw in Poland and her Ph.D. in Theoretical Nuclear Physics from the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Szczerbinska’s research focuses on theoretical aspects of Neutrino Physics, Geoneutrinos, and Dark Matter. She established the Center for Theoretical Underground Physics and Related Fields (CETUP*) in Lead, SD, in 2011.
A strong advocate for women in science, Dr. Szczerbinska served as a faculty advisor for Women in Science and Technology (WIST) at DSU and has been involved in numerous STEM outreach initiatives. She has served on various boards and committees, including the Kirby Science Discovery Center and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Leadership Council. Barbara is also a member of Phi Kappa Phi and the American Physical Society.
