Mandy Knight

Mandy joined the South Dakota Science and Technology Authority (SDSTA) in 2008 and has taken on increasing levels of responsibility, culminating in her position as Chief of Staff. In this capacity, she is a key member of the SDSTA Executive Leadership Team and serves as an ex officio member. Mandy directly supports the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, ensuring efficient execution of administrative, budgetary, and operational functions of the SDSTA Executive. She manages cross-functional projects that drive SDSTA’s mission, coordinates strategic planning efforts, ensures alignment across teams, and fosters relationships that support SDSTA’s long-term objectives.

Prior to her current role, Mandy served as Administrative Services Manager, Executive Assistant and Senior Project Specialist, providing foundational experience in general office management, project coordination, and executive support. She continues to lead the Administrative Services team, oversee special projects, and assist with SDSTA Board of Directors activities.

Mandy earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Environmental Science (with a business emphasis) from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She and her husband grew up in South Dakota but have lived in the Black Hills for many years. They love the Hills' natural beauty, the charming small-town atmosphere, and abundant opportunities for adventure.
